Large Social Media Agencies vs Large Social Media Companies
Large social media agencies are the face behind the campaigns. Agencies typically help major corporations by being in charge of social media content, strategy, and execution of ideas. Agencies are beneficial in ways such as only paying for the work needed, there is a diverse knowledge of social media management, and you can save the companies time to do other things in the marketing aspect of things. Working for an agency also allows you to take a brand to the next level. As a social media professional, you would know where to start, which platforms to use, and which type of content to use which companies may not be familiar with.
Large social media companies are the brand themselves making their own campaigns, content, and strategies. By working for a company rather than an agency, you will not have as diverse range of application. Also while working for a company, you are there every step of the way. you are able to observe and nurture the campaign for beginning to end. Companies also allows for a more consistent line of content, rather than an agency where it varies client to client.
Overall, both work settings are a great option for potential employees. But when it comes down to choosing, I believe it is based on the person's personality and preference. If you are a more settled person, and you like to stick with one brand, then large social media company is the way to go. On the other hand, if you like campaign and company diversity, experience, networking, and fluidity then large based agencies are the go to.
