Social Media Principles

Since the semester is coming to an end, I would like to reflect on my Social Media Principles course. To be my first social media class, I really enjoyed the experience and the people that I’ve meet. I originally joined to class thinking it was going to be an easy A, but that mindset was soon put to the challenge. I shortly realized this class will push me beyond my limits and challenge me each week. My absolute favorite thing about the class is professor Alisa Agozzino or “Aggie” for short! She is one of the coolest, fiercest, supportive, and funniest professor I have ever had. As a Alum, she knows the ins and outs of the school and represents it positively in every way. She made class exciting and spontaneous wether if it was in her teachings, story times, or desserts. Another thing I enjoyed about the class was the limits and boundaries I’ve pushed through. Because of this course, I have created this blog that I never in a million years thought I would have had. Not only did I post three times a week on my blog, but I also created a paid media ad, Twitter chat, completed a Pinterest board, joined a TikTok video and much more. For someone with zero social media skills, that was a absolute game changer for me. Although I did enjoy the class, there were two dislikes I formed later in the semester. One thing I disliked about the class was the lack of time we had together towards the end of the semester. I missed seeing Aggie and my classmates smiling faces along with the curiosity of what we where going to do for the day. Although we had Zoom conferences to substitute class time, it just wasn’t the same. To Aggie’s advantage, this was out of her control and she did her best to resume the semester as normal. Secondly, I disliked reading the last book of the semester. Content wise there was nothing wrong with the book, I was just to lazy to read the assigned material lol. All in all this class has changed me in every way. I gained insight on the social media career path, obtained knowledge that help broaden my mindset, met classmates that I normally would not see, and gained this wonderful experience with them all. Beginning this semester with slim to none knowledge about social media, I left with a enriched mind and a new found passion.
